Well, seeing as how 6 out of ten military marriages end in a divorce, and the spouse says that it is because the other spouse was never home, i am going to say no. Although you have that other group that sticks it out and actually learns when the spouse is gone they feel empty and alone, no matter how many people they are around. So it just depends on which side of the coin your brain is on.
I would have to agree to a degree.
When the abscences are long as the situations ArmyDoc is talkiing about or worse yet repeatedly renewed the damage that is done can have devastating effects on a family.
However, as you mentioned Savoury, if the abscences are balanced and the family is balanced I feel that it can indeed make the unity even stronger when apart.
I personally know and feel that when I am having to go somewhere that I miss my family a ton but thanks to today’s communication and technology tools am thankful I can still stay in touch.
